Cod Beck Loop Osmotherley

Walking around the Cod Beck reservoir is a very popular walk with many variations possible. This walk starts at the car park at Cod Beck, near Osmotherley, in the North York Moors. The walk continues past the Cod Beck reservoir and heads towards Chequers then heads back to Cod Beck.

Cod Beck Osmotherley

There are many walks around the Cod Beck Reservoir, with this walk being particularly interesting because of the views over Osmotherley, which is a lovely village in North Yorkshire.

Start the walk at Cod Beck Reservoir car park, Whorlton, Northallerton, DL6 3AQ.

Directions

  • Take the A173 from Great Ayton towards Stokesley
  • At the roundabout, take the 2nd exit onto the A172
  • At Swainby, turn left onto Back Lane
  • When you reach Coalmire Lane turn right and continue onto Scarth Nick and Quarry Lane until you reach Cod Beck Reservoir car park
