Saint Oswalds' Church
Saint Oswald's Church in Newton-under-Roseberry is well worth a visit and a hidden gem. Named after the Saxon King Oswald - King of England, claimed by Venerable Bede as "the first and most Christian King of England", whom died in battle in 642 at the hands of the then Pagan King Penda of Mercia. Drop-by on your way to Roseberry Topping as it is located a short walk from the main carpark and opposite the Kings Head Inn which serves great food and drink all day. The Church is Grade II listed and parts of its structure also date back to the Norman period.
