Back to News Index

Find out more about the story of Great Ayton’s High Street through the eyes of pollinators by following the new Bug Trail in Great Ayton.

You can pick up a leaflet and trail booklet from the entrance of the Discovery Centre and also download the Bug Trail app from Google Play or the App Store. The booklet has places to record rubbings from 7 posts at key spots in the village. Once the Discovery Centre fully re-opens, hopefully in April, you will be able to get a sticker if you take the completed booklet to the Tourist Information desk.

Thank you to all those who helped research the history. The trail has been made possible by money raised by National Lottery players through a National Lottery Heritage Fund grant and will be maintained thanks to a grant from Great Ayton Parish Council.

Moor Sustainable, who have put the trail together, would love to have feedback about the trail so have launched a prize draw, with prizes of National Garden Centre vouchers.  The vouchers can be used in Strikes, our local garden centre, or in any participating garden centre around the country.
