We take a look at inspiring venues which could really make your wedding day extra special.
Nestled in rural North Yorkshire on the borders of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park and Cleveland Way National Trail lies a little gem, an inspiring venue in an idyllic setting.
Your wedding day is one of the most important and memorable events in your life to be filled with fond and special memories. A Church wedding can really help make your wedding day extra special.

As soon as you turn up the drive to the main entrance of Christ Church Great Ayton to be met by the Rev'd Paul Peverell you will sense this will be a magical venue for your wedding. The church was built in 1876 and still maintains its outstanding charm and wonderful 19th century architecture.
A ceremony at Christ Church will not break the bank, affordable and unique to you with a touch of class and elegance. Christ Church can offer accomplished organists, a talented choir that can sing at your service, and the peals of tubular bells that can be rung as the newly married couple leave. Your service will include the delightful wedding candle ceremony, where the bride and groom’s mothers light candles on their behalf, and the couple then jointly light their wedding candle after making their vows.

What about your wedding reception? How about returning to what our grandparents did - and some others do - and use Christ Church Hall. Recently renovated in 2019, provides options of lovely round, trestle and square tables and great seating options which can be dressed beautifully with a little imagination by yourselves or your wedding planner.

You will have exclusive use of the entire venue which includes Hall & Coffee Lounge areas for guests, a kitchenette and bar area for your catering requirements and fully equipped kitchen to the rear of the venue. The venue is fully accessible and entrance to the Hall from the Church is under cover, so good for rainy days or winter weddings too. The costs for hiring are modest, so no big issues of losing thousands of pounds if insurers won't cover. Several wedding receptions have taken place in the Hall and they have run well with very positive feedback. School holidays are best as often the Hall is empty, but with plenty of notice other dates can be considered. Contact the Rev Pev for wedding dates and for Hall availability & costs to hire.
